washing tips

Wool, alpaca or cashmere

Hand wash in lukewarm water with a very mild soap like Eucalan. Avoid agitation or wringing of the fabric. Rinse with lukewarm water. Then roll gently in a towel to squeeze some of the water out of the fabric. Lay flat to dry.

Linen, silk or bamboo

Hand wash in lukewarm water with a very mild soap like Eucalan. Avoid agitation or wringing of the fabric. Rinse with lukewarm water. Then gently roll in a towel to squeeze some of the water out of the fabric. Lay flat to dry. Steam or press with a moderately hot iron if desired. I like to put a thin cotton cloth between the handwoven piece and the iron just to be safe.

Cotton or cottolin

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or hand wash. Machine dry on low heat setting or hang dry. Steam or press if desired.

Handwoven textiles are made to last.

Take good care of them and you will enjoy them for a very long time!
